Make Your Voice Heard
Did you know that 1 in 4 people in the United States live in a primary care shortage area? In fact, nearly half of all counties in the United States have no obstetricians, and more than half have no CNMs – making it difficult for many mothers to access the essential maternity care they need.
Tomorrow is International Women’s Day, and our Founder & CEO, Christy Turlington Burns, and our Director of Advocacy and Policy, Nan Strauss, are heading to Washington, DC to conduct a briefing for Senators and ask for their support of the Improving Access to Maternity Care Act.
You can take action too, and it will only take a minute of your time. Please urge your Senator today to co-sponsor the Improving Access to Maternity Care Act and to encourage them to attend tomorrow’s briefing. This no-cost, bipartisan legislation will direct the government to identify maternity care provider shortage areas so we can begin to fill these critical gaps.
Together, we can make pregnancy and childbirth safer for every mother, everywhere.
